As far as foreshadowing goes, this episode doesn't have much of it. Only thing I can think of is when Jet asks Faye, "Didn't you pay attention in your high school physics class?" after the matter gets trapped in hyperspace. When she was in high school, they did not have hyperspace or the gateways, so it makes sense that she didn't know what was going on.
The episode was very ironic, and there isn't much else I can say.
