Session #19: Wild Horses

In this session, we meet Doohan, the man who built the RedTail. It is obvious why he gave Spike his ship. They have similar personalities (and hair). Miles, Doohan's assistant, and an over-eager baseball fan, is really annoying but brings up something interesting. There is still baseball on earth, and it is still broadcasted on the radio.

And radio is what saves Spike's life. When Spike was in the RedTail and he ran out of gas, he thought he was going to die. He prepared to smoke his last cigarette, and told Jet about the whiskey. Luckily, Doohan heard, and used the Challenger to rescue Spike.

The point is, Spike was prepared to die. Each time he left to chase a bounty, he was prepared for that very thought, and it did not seem to bother him much. He accepted his dangerous lifestyle, and realized the consequences: he was not afraid of death.

I do like the interplay between Spike and Faye, as always. This time, they actually agree to just shoot the trucks, much to the disappointment of Jet. They are working together and having fun doing it, continuing that bounty hunter bond that they previously developed. They are more alike then they usually care to admit, but this time, they agree and chase after the bounty together.
